iPhone 8 Reportedly Facing New Issues With Wireless Charging, 3D Front Sensor

Image
iPhone 8 has according to multiple reports been been facing  many hiccups  ever since early reports of its existence started cropping up, and the 10th anniversary edition has reportedly landed itself in fresh trouble. The latest leaks indicate that  Apple  employees are working in a state of panic, as new issues surrounding wireless charging and the 3D front camera have arisen, and it may cause a delay in the launch of the  iPhone 8 . Another (rather sketchy) report claims that the Cupertino giant is still in a dilemma over Touch ID integration, and if it is missed, Apple may ditch Apple Pay as well. Even amidst all these rumours, Wall Street is very bullish about the iPhone 8, however Deutsche Bank analysts thinks it’s an overly optimistic view to keep at this point. Starting with the technical issues, Apple is now said to be facing new issues with wireless charging and 3D front camera,  reports  Fast Company. These aren’t hardware issues, but software ones, that Apple employe

LG V30 Render Leak Tips Dual Camera Setup, Rear Fingerprint Scanner

After the  LG G6 , the company is now gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone this fall. The LG V30 has been leaked on multiple occasions previously , but today’s leak brings video and image renders of the smartphone, giving us a full blown look at it from all angles. Tipster OnLeaks in collaboration with MySmartPrice has leaked  the renders of the  LG V30  smartphone, and the device sports a sleek metal frame, with a glass back. At the front, the smartphone is seen sporting very thin bezels with no Home Button or navigation buttons for that matter. There is no secondary display seen on the LG V30 renders, but LG could embed it before launch. At the bottom edge, we can the speaker grille, and the USB Type-C port as well. The 3.5mm audio jack is situated at the top edge, while the volume keys sit on the left, and the power button sits on the right edge of the smartphone. The back seems to be made of glass, and the tipster also suggests the introduction of wireless ch

Western Digital Gets US Court Order to Access Toshiba Databases, Chip Samples

Image
Western Digital Corp won a temporary US court order on Tuesday saying that Toshiba Corp must allow Western Digital's employees to access databases and chip samples as part of a joint venture with Toshiba around flash memory chip plants in Japan. Toshiba  is scrambling to sell its flash memory business and  Western Digital  is among the bidders. In a sign of high tensions around the deal, Toshiba threatened to lock Western Digital out of shared databases and quit sending chip samples. Western Digital  sued Toshiba in San Francisco County Superior Court  saying that its joint venture with Toshiba means Toshiba must get its consent for a sale. It asked the court for two separate orders: An injunction to stop the sale, and a temporary restraining order forcing Toshiba to give its workers access to shared databases. A judge granted the temporary order for access to the shared databases Tuesday and set a further hearing on July 28. "We welcome the decision of the co

G-20 minus 1: How Trump changed U.S. leadership

Image
HAMBURG — President Trump attended the G-20 summit in Hamburg, but he wasn't really a part of it. Instead, Trump used the conference space generously provided by his host, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, to conduct a series of his own mini-summits — separate on-on-one "meetings on the sidelines" with other world leaders where Trump pursued his own agenda. He met with Russian President Vladimir Putin about his interference in western elections. He met with leaders in Asia about North Korea. And he met with trading partners throughout the world in a two-day binge of talks.  This focus on one-on-one meetings, which ended with Trump declaring newly created great friendships with world leaders, meant that he often stepped away from the bigger meetings. On Saturday, he left his daughter Ivanka to represent the United States on the floor of the G-20 while he met with the president of Indonesia. And when the rest of the summit agreed  that the Paris climate agreem

Tesla bags mega deal to build giant battery within 100 days in Australia

Image
Tesla  Inc has won an Australian contract to install the world's biggest grid-scale battery, in what experts say will be a litmus test for the reliability of large-scale renewable energy. Tesla's CEO Elon Musk, known for his bold approach to cars, clean energy and space exploration, trumped dozens of competing for proposals to build the gigantic lithium-ion  battery  that will serve as emergency back-up power for South  Australia  - a state racked by outages. But under the agreement,  Tesla  must deliver the 100-MW  battery  within 100 days of the contract being signed or it will be free - a commitment Musk made in a Tweet in March. "There will be a lot of people that will look at this -'Did they get it done within 100 days? Did it work?'" Musk told reporters in South Australia's capital city of Adelaide. "We are going to make sure it does." The battery, designed to light up 30,000 homes if there is a blackout, will be built

Warren Buffett bets big on power with $9-billion Oncor deal

Image
Warren Buffett's  Berkshire  Hathaway Inc said on Friday it agreed to pay $9 billion to buy the parent of Texas power transmission company  Oncor Electric Delivery Co, stepping up its pursuit of steady profits from utilities and infrastructure deals. If the all-cash purchase wins approval from federal and state regulators and a bankruptcy judge, Buffett's Berkshire  Hathaway Energy unit will assume control of one of the largest  US electricity transmission companies. " Buffett  views infrastructure bets as a good long-term investment," said Steven Check, president of Check Capital Management Inc in Costa Mesa, California, which invests $300 million of the $1.4 billion it oversees in  Berkshire. "With the relatively limited opportunities available to a company of Berkshire's size, investments such as Oncor that are likely to yield 8 to 10 percent annually are acceptable," Check added. The acquisition also highlights the growing prominenc

Qatar  Airways is the fourth airline on whom the restrictions have been eased by the  US.  During this week, the curbs on Emirates, Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines were lifted. Six years on from their $20 million wedding, UK socialites Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt are gearing up for one of the biggest and most expensive divorces of all time, with an estimated shared wealth of $9.3 billion to divide between them. The pair announced their divorce earlier this week and faced a London court on Friday, during which time Stunt was ordered to leave their $169 million Chelsea home. Petra, who had been living with the couple’s three children in a rented apartment since February, is set to move back into the home within days. But who exactly are Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt, and how have they come to face what some lawyers are now calling the “biggest settlement in celebrity history"? Well, alongside her older sister Tamara, 28-year-old Petra is heir to her father Bernie Ecclestone's $4.2 billion fortune, much of which has been made through the Formula One industry. Before marrying, Petra briefly launched and operated two fashion lines that
